Engineer Ft. Photographer

I am a 26-year-old self-taught photographer who have decided to follow the lens of my camera, rather than follow the norm.

Growing up, I was constantly exposed to beautiful photos with my dad being an amateur photographer. I started living out my own passion for photography in 2016 when I was a matric student in Johannesburg. During this time I was behind the camera as a school sports photographer and my photos soon gained a reputable image. I loved my hobby, but by then I was already enrolled to study engineering at the University of Stellenbosch. 

A new journey was waiting for me, and after matric I packed my bags, hung my camera around my neck and off to Stellenbosch I went. My passion for photography was still burning strong and in my free time I started photographing formal and informal events for Stellenbosch University Residences. I have since captured memorable moments at matric and university house dances, snapped the smiles at birthday parties and captured the action at sporting events.

I understand that these are the moments that only come once, that a single photograph might one day be the only memory you’ll have of “that” special day. 

Time and time again photography had become a feature in my life, and now I’ve decided to pursue the passion. Having finished my engineering studies, I know that it can seem crazy to leave a relatively stable profession to pick up a camera instead. Passions often get waylaid in the pursuit of an occupation, but I decided to take a chance on my dream.
